Comprehensive Sexuality Education Training

To support the national goal of ending HIV as a public health threat by 2030, MPG has implemented targeted and inclusive youth engagement strategies across Myanmar. Recognizing persistent challenges in access to information, commodities, and treatment adherence among adolescents, MPG created a participatory space for young people to contribute to decision-making at multiple levels. Through support from the UNESCO, MPG led a series of capacity-building trainings for youth peer educators, equipping them with skills in SRHR, HIV/AIDS awareness, and peer counselling. The four-day training, held in Yangon and attended by a diverse group of 33 youth including those from remote regions and individuals with disabilities emphasized participatory learning, interactive discussions, and practical field-based activities. As of October 2024, more than 400 youths have benefited from peer-led awareness sessions, marking a significant step towards fostering youth-driven, community-based HIV prevention efforts in Myanmar.
