HIV/TB Agency, Information, and Service Activity (AIS) organized the World AIDS Day virtual and in-person event with the purpose to support achieving the objective of equality for all people living with HIV, at risk of and affected by HIV in all sectors, especially in health, education, and workplace via online zoom platform. This event was held with more than 150 participants including representatives of UNAIDS, USAID, CPI, and other stakeholders, leaders of Key Populations, and members of Self-Help Groups and Key Population networks from States and Regions across Myanmar.
The objective of the event is as follows:
• The objectives of the community-led World AIDS Day event are to promote the availability, quality, and sustainability of services for HIV prevention, testing, and treatment which can help everyone be well-served.
• To ensure equal access to services for KPs, YKPs, and marginalized populations, and show respect and welcome to them while they are taking health services.
• To communicate the Global WAD theme “Equalize” to wider HIV stakeholders and to advocate priorities from the HIV-infected and affected community.

The theme of World AIDS Day is “Equalize”. In accordance with that slogan, in order to practically work to make equal rights, the following points are worked around.
- Our voice in every process to make quality risk reduction services for our fellow citizens. experience Implementation of the awareness increases participation at all levels and provides opportunities for peer-led risk-reduction activities.
- The problem of overdose among drug users is also an issue that cannot be forgotten. In order to prevent further deaths due to these complications, we are working to ensure that drug users have access to painkillers.
- In addition to the fact that women who use drugs are discriminated against, they are higher than men. Acknowledgment We provide services that are suitable for those who want to have a room.
- To understand and accept the diversity of LGBTIQ+ people and to reduce the inequalities affecting MSM and Transgender Women in all aspects of HIV AIDS work.
- Consider the health services needed by MSM and Transgender Women
- In order to reduce the inequalities caused by criminal discrimination against sex workers, they are involved in all aspects of HIV and AIDS work.
- Health services needed by sex workers are taken into consideration.
- For sex workers, the health services needed in case of sexual violence are included in the HIV process.
In conclusion, to appreciate and understand the human dignity and rights of Key Populations who are our brothers and sisters. AIDS can be ended by 2030 if more people are empowered in every role in the fight against AIDS.
