HIV/TB Agency, Information and Service Activity (AIS) organized the International Sex Worker Day Semi-virtual event led by the Sex Worker in Myanmar Network ( SWiM) with collaboration of Community Network Consortium(CNC) and stakeholders for achieving objective of its event at Zealax Hotel. The total 140 participants ( In person- 95 , Virtual-45)including representatives of UNAIDS, NAP, leaders of Key Population network and members of SWiM.
The objective of the event is as follow:
• To aware about the international Sex Worker Day
• To access the services for Sex Workers
• To improve the knowledges of health and safety environment for Sex Worker
So What: All representative of UNAIDS and NAP provided the support encourage words for SWiM and leaders of SWiM and members are shared the experiences the challenges on their daily life and advocated to reduce stigma and discrimination toward Sex Worker. The outputs of this meeting as below:
- Improved the motivation of Sex Worker in HIV response by attending the event.
- Gained the knowledges of International Sex Worker day
- Gained the information of assess the health services and activities of SWiM.
- Gained the knowledge on Sex Worker law of 1949 and activities of its by SWiM.
- Advocated to reduce stigma and discrimination toward Sex Workers by experiences sharing
