Between 7 and 9 April 2025, a Volunteer Capacity Building Training was conducted at Best Western Green Hill Hotel in Yangon, with the primary objective of strengthening the competencies of volunteers engaged in Community Appraisal Projects. The training brought together 17 volunteers (2 male and 15 female) from diverse regions, including Shan (South), Sagaing Region, Kayin State, and Yangon, as well as 12 representatives from organizations such as MPG, UNOPS, and KNP+. Designed to enhance volunteers’ proficiency in conducting ethical and effective research, the training covered a comprehensive range of topics, including reproductive health education, prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), and foundational research methodologies emphasizing informed consent, confidentiality, and data quality. Participants also took part in pilot activities that allowed for practical application of survey tools, enabling them to identify and address implementation challenges in real time. Furthermore, a session on financial procedures equipped volunteers with essential knowledge on incentive management and fiscal accountability. Collectively, the training served to build the capacity of volunteers, fostering greater accuracy in data collection and reinforcing ethical practices and community collaboration in future project implementation.
