Description: Care and Support activities to PLHIVs
Objectives : – to give the required support to PLHIVs according to criteria (SOP)
- to give adherence counselling sessions to clients who come to NAP for the ART
dispensing
- to organize the gathering meeting with clients for knowledge sharing on HIV-related
health conditions and explain the supports given by MPG
SoWhat: PLHIVs can adhere to the ARTs due to counseling and regularly come to NAP for ART drugs with the support of Travel allowance and other supports. And they can also share their experiences and their feelings in gathering meetings which can lead to improvement in their communication, and team (SHG) activities and can also reduce the stress due to current situations.
# | Action |
1 | Giving Adherence counseling sessions – Counselors and Peer Supporters from MPG are giving adherence counseling to all clients who come to NAP for ART drugs. They also give tele-counselling service to those who need more time. |
2 | Giving referral Support (TA) – Counselors and peer supports also give referral (TA) support to some clients according to SOP and criteria – to ease the clients’ difficulties to come to NAP |
3 | Missing and defaulter tracking according to NAP’s list – in most of the NAP sites, there are many missing and defaulter cases due to current situations (political, Covid-19 and economic) and our staff are tracing and calling back (adherence counseling) them to return to care |
4 | Nutrition Supports – most of the PLHIVs are needed for nutrition supports in this situation and we support them in accordance with SOP |
5 | Hospitalization Supports – when one PLHIV has been hospitalized, we support them with some amount to cover a portion of their hospitalization cost. Counselors and Peer supporters also engage with them to support them when it occurs. |
6 | Funeral Supports – when one PLHIV has passed away, our counselors and peer supporters contacted with their remaining family members for the funeral support |
7 | Gathering Meetings – are done on a quarterly basis to organize some SHG members and PLHIVs (around 20-30) for health education, experience sharing, and supporting each other. |
